Recently, an unrepeatable politician like José Pepe Mujica said that “the peoples sometimes make mistakes in choosing their rulers” and in exemplifying his sentence, he named the Brazilians and his shift head, Jair Bolsonaro. To make mistakes is wise, to err is human, maxims of life that make us learn. Above all, when we talk about politicians, citizens vote for a constructed image, staging and campaign promises.
The worrying thing is that from the outside Bolsonaro looks like the big mistake, the heavy joke of the moment, the overflowing idiot, the personification of stupidity. But where he rules, all the jokes seem to laugh at him and forgive the most obscene ridiculousness.
One might even think that this is a meticulously articulated political strategy, one that mixes an apparent spontaneity, breaking of molds and extravagance, with the victim card up its sleeve when things get out of hand. But if it were true, we already know that it is not an original maneuver, but the sad and bad copy of the American antichrist.
