Several Camagüeyans donate protection means and other labor tools to Public Health workers who are in the front line of confrontation with COVID-19.

Given the limitation of health resources imposed by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba in the midst of the current pandemic that is plaguing the world, the initiative of the Cubans to overcome its consequences led to workers of the Manuel Ascunce Domenech University Hospital, the largest in the province of Camagüey, to make face shields to preserve health before COVID-19.

The spread of SARS-CoV-2 has demanded, in addition to a change in daily life and health services in the country, a logical demand for medicines and means of protection to confront the epidemic, based on the limitations imposed by the measures of the current North American administration for the acquisition of these resources, reports this Tuesday the ACN.

To alleviate its effects, and in the face of the ferocity and lack of humanism of the government of the northern nation, professionals and service personnel dedicate part of their time to manufacturing the masks in the aforementioned hospital unit, located in this city, from plates of X-rays recovered from the imaging area, and others donated by patients and by the workers themselves.

At the site, both service workers and doctors and nurses from the institution come together in a collective effort, according to a report by the local television station.

So far, more than 100 masks have been completed for protection, mainly for Guard Corps personnel, in order to reduce the risks of transmission of the disease, which reports 36 diagnosed cases in the territory, according to the last part of this Tuesday. of the Ministry of Public Health.
