Bolivia warns about violent opposition actions

Bolivia’s Minister of Government, Carlos Romero, reported on Wednesday night the death of two people as a result of violent actions generated by groups linked to the Bolivian opposition.

Romero blamed the death of the Cruceñista Youth Union, as well as the president of the Montero Civic Committee, Santa Cruz, Regis Medina and the candidate of the Citizen Community, Carlos Mesa, for those deaths and a preliminary list of six injured.

Before the allegations of repression by the opposition, Romero stressed that the right to protest is constitutionally recognized, but warned that when a mobilization activates violent devices in ascending escalation, which is what happens in Santa Cruz and Cochabamba, the situation is very serious.
