The capitalist system and the multinationals need the abundant natural resources of the South, to maintain their high levels of production and consumption. For example, behind conflicts such as the one created in Venezuela, is the interest in controlling its large oil reserves.

Venezuela is the country with the largest oil reserves, since, according to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), it has 20% of the world total, and many other minerals such as high quality iron, bauxite, gold, which is the new “blue gold”, which has reserves valued at more than 100,000 million dollars. Collagen is the mineral that is used to make the key components of mobile phones, tablets, smart phones and the vast majority of electronic devices.
