Cuban President supports UNEAC’s position on statements by Vargas Llosa

President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez described as blunt and dignified the response of the artistic and literary movement of Cuba to reject the tendentious statements of the writer Mario Vargas Llosa in the current Latin American context.

In his Twitter account the dignitary supported the official pronouncement of the UNEAC, Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, in the face of recent opinions of the Peruvian intellectual, who appeared in a channel specially designed for the preparation of subversive plans against the Cuban people. Remember the text of the Cuban artists and intellectuals that during the appearance, Vargas Llosa supported the coup d’etat that forced the resignation of the president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, and stimulated an internal uprising in Cuba with the support of the United States government and its allies.

However, the UNEAC statement warns that Peru is silent about the political situation in Chile, Colombia and Brazil, which shows its intellectual deterioration and ignorance about the Latin American reality.
