Why do we celebrate the International Day of Women of African Descent on July 25?
['Please Enter Your Name Here']
Date: 2021-08
On July 25, 1992, black women from 32 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean met in the Dominican Republic. The meeting sought to make the struggles and resistance of Afro women visible, as well as define strategies to confront racism from a gender perspective. As a result of that appointment, the date was instituted as International Day of Women of African Descent.
