Villa Clara celebrates the 324th anniversary of the Fire Department

The province of Villa Clara and its capital are pioneers in the constitution of a Fire Department in Cuba. Today, November 13, the founding province celebrates the Day of the Cuban Firefighter, as a tribute to those heroes who put the welfare of others before their own.It was the colonial era linked to the forging of a nation.

The year 1696 witnessed the birth of the first Fire Department of Cuba, based in the nascent Santa Clara, thanks to the suffrage of expenses of the Santa Clara residents themselves, fearful of accidental fires in the Villa, thus it arises, next to the Teatro La Charity, the first fire station, 324 years ago.
