The president of the Councils of State and Ministers Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez attended the annual report of the Ministry of Energy and Mines. The Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez and the main executives of the organization also participated.

We are confident that you have a potential contribution to the country, said the Cuban leader at the meeting. Díaz-Canel highlighted the efforts of the electrical workers in recovering the damages caused by the tornado that hit Havana on January 27, a work that, due to its speed and quality, demonstrates the skills, accumulated experiences and potential of the technicians and Cuban experts.

Raúl García Barreiro, Minister of Energy and Mines, said that one of the most important achievements of 2018 was that one hundred percent of Cubans had electrical service through various channels, including photovoltaic panels in isolated areas or difficult to access.

In the meeting, the main deficiencies were the breakdowns and breakage of equipment, despite which the standards of service quality continued to be raised.
