Court of the Broad Front of Uruguay sanctions Luis Almagro

The Broad Front of Uruguay sanctioned the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, for supporting a possible military intervention in Venezuela.

The Political Conduct Court of the Uruguayan political party concluded that Almagro’s statements could be considered a violation of the Broad Front’s principles.

The court explained that Almagro’s views on the overthrow of a Latin American government by means of military force are in violation of the principle enunciated in Article 2, paragraph B, of the OAS Charter and recalled the history of US military interventions in the region.
