Alert in the Caribbean to approach Dorian storm

The governments and islands of the Caribbean Sea basin remain on alert for the imminent arrival of possible Dorian hurricane in the next few hours.

Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti among other countries have urged their inhabitants to move to shelters and take action before the arrival of the natural phenomenon.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) estimates that the hurricane will reach the island of Puerto Rico at 7:00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday. The maximum wind speed would be around 120 kilometers per hour. At a press conference, the governor of Puerto Rico, Wanda Vázquez, said Monday that he signed the state of emergency before weather reports that the tropical storm “Dorian” could become a category 1 hurricane.”I urge the citizens to activate their emergency plan with caution and tranquility, to citizens who do not yet have safe roofs, we will have shelters ready.”

The authorities began to build a total of 360 shelters with the capacity to accommodate 48,500 people; However, the governor urged the population to condition their homes and take precautions against the possible hurricane. Dorian is not a danger to Cuba, the Cuban Institute of Meteorology reported on the island.
