Spain and Argentina strengthened economic and financial cooperation during the 24-hour visit of the President of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, to the South American country.
Sánchez expressed his support for Argentina in the negotiations for the 44 billion debt with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a consequence of the controversial loan signed by former President Mauricio Macri.
Both leaders called for the lifting of patents on coronavirus vaccines to accelerate the fight against the pandemic worldwide. Fernández was concerned because 90 percent of vaccines are in the hands of 10 percent of the countries and reiterated the need for vaccines to be “a global good.”
