This Friday, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, offered a press conference at the Miraflores Palace, to international media accredited in his country, about the situation facing the Bolivarian nation. Meanwhile, the mobilizations in defense of national sovereignty continue, unknown and silenced by the big press and social networks.

Maduro said that Venezuela subscribes and joins the diplomatic dialogue mechanisms proposed by Mexico, Uruguay, Bolivia and the Community of Caribbean Countries (Caricom).

The president referred to the media show that takes place right now with the so-called humanitarian aid and the threat made by Donald Trump, who ratified last Sunday in a television interview, his threat of military invasion of Venezuela.

The day before, the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, and other leaders of the PSUV of Guárico and Apure led a mass demonstration in rejection of the US invasion.

The figure of humanitarian aid is part of the US interventionist agenda. Neither the Red Cross nor the United Nations wanted to sponsor it by validating the government of Nicolás Maduro. Venezuela recognizes the problems its economy faces due to the blockade, but denies a humanitarian crisis.

Washington has offered Venezuela 20 million dollars in supposed “humanitarian aid”, while it retains to the South American nation a figure close to 18 billion dollars that would serve for more than a year of imports of food and medicine to the country.
