Díaz-Canel holds bilateral meetings with world leaders

The Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, met this Tuesday the high representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, in the frame of his activities at the UN.

The meeting with the chief of diplomacy of the community block took place during a day of several bilateral meetings of the governor, who began yesterday his participation in the General Assembly and should intervene tomorrow in the debate of high level of this Institution.

Mogherini made in last January his third official visit to Havana, an occasion in which she emphasized the disposition of the community group to carry on with the links in the island.

Likewise, she reaffirmed the condemn of the European Union to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S to Cuba more than 55 years ago and it is denounced continuously at the UN by the island.

During her stay in the largest of the West Indies, the high representative classified that policy of obsolete and illegal.

Financial agreement for the support program to the Policy of Energy of Cuba

Last May 15th, the island and the community block celebrated in Brussels, Belgium, the Compound Board Cuba-European Union, in which Mogherini and the Cuban Chancellor, Bruno Rodríguez, underlined the Agreement for the Support Program to the Policy of Energy of Cuba.

According to the Chancellery of the Caribbean country, this appointment was an important step for the instrumentation of the Agreement of the Politic and Cooperation Dialog and reinforced the basis of respect, reciprocity and equality supporting the bilateral relations.

Rodriguez considered in that moment that the state of the links with the European Union put into evidence the capacity to construct spaces for dialogs and cooperation in mutual benefit.

The minister of Foreign Relations commented that it exist already favorable conditions for the increase of the trade relations and investment in Cuba and thanked the position of the European Union of denial to the blockade imposed by the U.S
