Develop the government and electronic commerce as a fundamental way to meet the needs of the population and the national economy as well as the strengthening of the state enterprise of computer programs and applications in order to achieve greater technological sovereignty, the modernization of telecommunications infrastructures, the service exports and the promotion of a culture of integral security, with particular emphasis on cybersecurity, are some of the fundamental challenges of the Ministry of Communications (Mincom), in a context where more than six million Cubans access the Internet through different channels.
Thus it transpired during the annual balance of the Mincom, which was chaired by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, president of the Republic of Cuba. Also in attendance were Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister; Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, head of the Mincom; Ulises Guillarte de Nacimiento, member of the Political Bureau and general secretary of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba; Mercedes López Acea, member of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba; Gladys Bejerano, Comptroller General of Cuba.
In the case of electronic government, the country is in the second stage, that of interaction, one of the most complex moments due to the necessary step of computerizing all processes linked to the population internally or not, for the sake of to achieve digital transformations, which expedite and provide greater quality and accessibility of services, the Granma newspaper reports Tuesday.
