The Revolutionary Armed Forces paid tribute to José Martí, with the launch of 21 artillery salutes, simultaneously in the cities of Havana and Santiago de Cuba. The remains of the National Hero José Martí rest in the Santa Ifigenia cemetery in Santiago de Cuba. The tribute to the Apostle was extended with a military ceremony headed by students of the Camilo Cienfuegos Military School, sergeants and soldiers of the battery of salva of the Military Region Santiago de Cuba, the platoon of the honor guard ceremony unit to José Martí in the Santiago necropolis and by the Band of Music of the Eastern Army, interpreting the notes of the National Anthem, according to the TV website in Santiago de Cuba.
