A floral tribute in the name of the people of Cuba was deposited today in front of the monolith that keeps the mortal remains of the Historical Leader of the Fidel Castro Ruz Revolution in the Santa Ifigenia Patrimonial Cemetery, when three years of his funeral honors are celebrated.
The ceremony also paid tribute to the Father and Mother of the Fatherland, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Mariana Grajales Cuello; to our National Hero, José Martí Pérez; and to the heroes and martyrs of our country who also rest in the Santiago cemetery.
The highest authorities in Santiago de Cuba led the tribute
Present were Lázaro Expósito Canto, first secretary of the Party in the territory; Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, president of the Provincial Assembly of Popular Power, and other leaders of these institutions and mass organizations.
The Unit of Honor Guard of the FAR and two representatives of the Cuban people: José Solar Hernández, general of the Reserve and Combatant of the Revolution; and the fourth year student and president of the FEU of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Josefina Prosper Bruff, were responsible for depositing the tribute. “It is an honor for me to be chosen for this work,” said the young woman, “because Fidel in the collective memory of our land and the world will always be inextricably linked with the Revolution. That is what it means to us. ”
