Mobilizations are held in Peru to support the triumph of Pedro Castillo

Political and social organizations and citizen groups of Peru called for a day of marches for tomorrow, in support of the electoral victory of Pedro Castillo. The protesters will also denounce the party of Keiko Fujimori, for its attempts to prevent the presidential inauguration of Castillo. Legislators from Peru Libre, Frente Amplio and other forces ensure their presence in the mobilization. After the vote counting, the National Office of Electoral Processes confirmed Castillo’s victory, with 50.12 percent of the ballots. However, sources from the Ministry of Defense confirm that hundreds of retired officers demand that the Armed Forces not recognize Pedro Castillo as the winner in the elections on June 6th.
