Metal mechanics Varona: example of efficiency of the State Socialist Company

In the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón in Havana, it is one of the companies with the best results and contributions to the economy. Metalmecánica Varona founded by Fidel 40 years ago is an example of import substitution that saves millions of pesos to the country.
It stands out for its participation in the implementation of mini-industries in the processing of fruits and vegetables, refrigerated tanks for milk collection, cisterns for trucks destined to programs of the Institute of Hydraulic Resources, the manufacture of bronze pieces for the sugar industry.
As a strategy for the assimilation and subsequent optimization of investments, we work with students who are trained in different centers, both technological and universities.
It is also expected that a group of technicians and engineers from the company will attend training in countries such as China and Belarus, where the greatest technological transfer will come from, with which they will benefit.
