The Bolivian Foreign Ministry invited the OAS to send a technical commission to verify the results of the elections that gave Evo Morales the victory. Given the incitement to protests by several opposition groups, Foreign Minister Diego Pary announced that his government is interested in the electoral process having full transparency.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, the results that confirm the victory of Evo Morales in the presidential elections of Bolivia were updated. At 95.22% of verified minutes, Evo obtained 46.86% of votes, followed by Carlos Mesa with 36.73%. However, it seeks to change this victory of Morales with scenarios of violence. Several groups opposed to the government made violent protests in the nine capitals of the country in the last hours to ignore these results alleging that there was fraud to favor the current president.

Given this situation, the Bolivian Foreign Ministry requested a “special audit” of the controversial Organization of American States OAS to verify the calculation of the electoral records of the elections that are questioned by the opponents. This is how a government that has nothing to hide reacts to this attempt designed from the outside to reverse an election result.

The situation seems to intensify because, while the opposition groups call for a strike and ask for a second round, the National Coordinator for Change, an organization that brings together the main social movements of the country, announced that they will keep watch on the results that ratify the victory of Morales.

Obviously, it was to be expected that, in the tense situation that several progressive governments of Latin America have experienced in recent years, those who attempt against the left were not going to let these elections go unnoticed that consolidate Evo Morales as one of the main leaders region of.

Annoying Evo Morales, SI, bothers those who did not think it would last in office for 13 years, who did not have an indigenous president who would change the landscape of Bolivia 180 degrees to achieve, for example, that the minimum wage would go from 440 Bolivians to 2 1 thousand 60 Bolivians, that is, 4.7 growth.

It was Evo Morales who promoted the construction of more than one thousand health facilities for the population and one thousand two hundred educational centers. During its management 5 thousand kilometers of roads have been built. They are just a few examples, but in the same way the votes speak for themselves. Hence the peace of mind that the current administration has to ask for a review with international organizations.

Bolivia, like any other country, has internal challenges in terms of its management but if something has characterized Evo’s leadership it is the openness to dialogue to resolve any social issue. Those who bet to remove him from the presidency would use any gap to maximize it and cause chaos, but they have not had a chance because current numbers do not allow it. Now we just have to wait for international organizations to be convinced, once this verification is made, of the decision that the people expressed at the polls.
