The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, starts a government visit on Wednesday in the province of Camagüey, to evaluate together with his cabinet the progress of the socioeconomic plans in that territory

In the so-called land of churches and tinajones, Díaz-Canel will visit scientific centers, research, health and the food industry, such as the Episur Fishing Company, in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Sur.

According to the Twitter profile of @PresidenciaCuba, there is a dialogue about resolved wage dissatisfaction, the importance of import substitution, the promotion of local development, innovation and links with the university, among other topics.On the other hand, the Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, goes through the Municipal Hospital of Camagüey and knows about the functioning of the different services, the quality of the attention to the population and the process of constructive maintenance that is carried out in that medical institution , reflects the newspaper Adelante in his account on the social network Twitter.

Since his arrival at the presidency, Díaz-Canel has stressed that the strategy is to work tirelessly with alternatives already designed, without abandoning the objectives set in terms of greater welfare for the people. During his travels to the provinces of the Caribbean nation, the Cuban president emphasizes essential tasks for the country such as housing construction, food production, and construction materials. He insists that Cuba has two priorities: preparation for defense and economic development. It also reiterates the need to concretize the productive chain with tourism and other sectors, promoting a sustainable local development. In his opinion, local development produces an increase in wages, an improvement in the standard of living of the population of the territory and promotes food sovereignty.
