To raise awareness about the importance of bees

For four years, May 20th has been declared by the United Nations, as World Bee Day, to protect this insect and other pollinators, of singular importance for plant diversity and human health. The date was chosen to coincide with the birth of Anton Jansa, a Slovak recognized in the 18th century as a pioneer of modern beekeeping.
