['Please Enter Your Name Here']
Date: None
The US government detained more than 92,000 migrants on the border with Mexico during March of this year, the month with the highest figure in the last five years, according to the US Office of Customs and Border Protection.
Between October of last year and March, the detentions of migrants on the border rose by 375 percent, and most come from the northern triangle: Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. At least almost 400,000 were detained by the border patrol in 2018. In this context, the Customs Office declared that they are experiencing an unprecedented and unsustainable situation on the southern border.
Recall that the immigration issue has been one of the most controversial in the government of Donald Trump, about the controversial financing for the construction of the border wall with Mexico.
