The Union of Cuban Historians remembers this Tuesday the 106th anniversary of the birth of Raúl Ferrer, a prominent Cuban educator and poet.
He was distinguished by his deep pedagogical vocation and his social struggles. Starting in 1995, he held important responsibilities in the Ministry of Education until he became Vice Minister, performing important work in the Literacy Campaign.
In his published work, the poetry books EL ROMANCILLO DE LAS COSAS NEGRAS AND OTHER SCHOOL POEMS AND TRAVELER WITHOUT RETURN stand out.
His poem in four tenths GUAYABERA, was selected for the international anthology, a THOUSAND POETS, A THOUSAND WORKS. It is undoubtedly ROMANZA DE LA NIÑA BALA, one of his best-known and most endearing works in the popular Cuban imagination.
