Customs clarify rumors about cargo forfeiture
['Please Enter Your Name Here']
Date: None

Note from the General Customs of the Republic

We have received multiple inquiries stating that they have known that Customs will seize all cargoes with more than 90 days that arrive by air and 120 by sea, these approaches are false.

Certainly, Resolution 529/2019 of the Chief of the General Customs of the Republic of November 4, 2019, established these deadlines. In this regard, we inform you that, exceptionally, unaccompanied baggage shipments arriving in Cuba have been authorized in breach of said deadlines.

We reiterate the General Customs of the Republic will not confiscate any cargo that fails to meet these deadlines, on the contrary, all the people who are cited by their Freight Forwarders will dispatch their charges until December 31, 2020.

The aforementioned Resolution extended the deadlines by air by 90 and by sea by 120 days, seeking to extend those terms.

We recommend going to the official Customs sites which are duly updated.
