169 new cases of Covid reports Cuba today, no deaths

At the close of yesterday, January 1, 3,095 patients were admitted for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 550 suspected, 975 under surveillance and 1,570 confirmed. For COVID-19, 11,243 samples were studied, resulting in 169 positive samples. The country accumulates one million 502 thousand 010 samples made and 12 thousand 225 positive.
Of the total cases (169) 79 were contacts of confirmed cases;87 with a source of infection abroad;on day three without a specified source of infection.Of the 169 cases diagnosed, 89 were female and 80 male.
76.3% (129) of the 169 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 7,952, which represents 65.9% of those confirmed to date.
The 169 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: those under 20 years of age 16 for 9.4%; from 20 to 39 years 69 for 40.8%; from 40 to 59 years 66 for 39.0%, 60 and over 18 for 10.6%.
Until January 1, 189 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, it amounts to 84 million 278 thousand 380 confirmed cases (+ 801 thousand 679) with 17 million 761 thousand 728 active cases and 1 million 833 thousand 747 deaths (+ 13 thousand 487) for a fatality of 2.17% (-0.01).
In the Americas region, 36 million 775 thousand 296 confirmed cases (+ 433 thousand 937) are reported, 43.63% of the total cases reported in the world, with 9 million 662 thousand 2 active cases and 880 thousand 84 deaths (+ 7 thousand 62) for a lethality of 2.39 (-0.01).
