The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, exchanged with workers from the Center for Innovation and Development of the Electronics Group (GELECT) about the projects of that entity and their importance for priority sectors of Cuban society.
Accompanied by the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Díaz-Canel toured the new facilities of the new prototype development workshop, where he shared with the young people who carry out these projects. “Modern tools in dedicated hands give results,” Valdés Menéndez highlighted in a message on his Twitter account. In order to meet the needs of the Cuban economy, GELECT’s Center for Innovation and Development provides goods and services in the field of electronics, computer science, automation and communications.
Exclusively for the Cuban News Agency, the vice president of this Group, Albeo Zamora Quintero reported at the end of 2020, that for this year the commercialization of more than 320,000 decoder boxes is expected. In addition, 32-inch hybrid televisions must be produced for the education sector, which will allow the elimination of analog channels without affecting the teleclass service.
Likewise, the GELECT companies are working with a view to introducing technologies in their equipment to the foreign exchange market that reduce the consumption of electrical energy, said their vice president.
