The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, on Saturday called attention on Twitter to the national epidemiological situation due to COVID-19.
He described the beginning of April as alarming, since there is a daily average of more than a thousand cases, the majority in Havana. The Cuban president announced that in the next few hours there will be more drastic closure measures, as happened during the first outbreak of COVID-19 ”.
He also added that it will take months for the country to be fully immunized, for which he urged to act responsibly to avoid positive cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes COVID-19. He stressed that “it is not enough to put your shoulder.
Responsible action must be taken, “and he added that” for the good of our families and the Homeland, measures such as distancing, hygiene and masks must be preserved. ” Regarding the Phase III clinical trials of the Cuban anti-COVID-19 vaccine candidates, Díaz-Canel highlighted, in another communication, that “more than 90 thousand volunteers are already receiving the second dose of Soberana 02 and Abdala.”
