In the morning of this Monday, June 24, a grouping of ships of the Navy of the Russian Federation arrived at the port of Havana, on official visit.

The Russian sailors will carry out a program of activities that includes courtesy visits to the Chief of the Revolutionary Navy, as well as visiting places of historical and cultural interest, according to the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.

During the entrance to the port of Havana, 21 salvos were fired from the frigate Admiral Gorshkov as a salute to the Nation, which were reciprocated by a battery of artillery from the Revolutionary Armed Forces from the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress.On his part, Andrei Guskov, Russian ambassador to Cuba and the representatives of the Cuban armed forces, plan to visit the frigate.

The frigate Admiral Gorshkov belongs to the new generation of Russian warships, equipped with the 130 mm caliber A-192 Armat artillery system, with a speed of 30 rounds per minute and a range of up to 22 kilometers.With a displacement of 4,500 tons, 135 meters of length, 15 of beam and speeds of up to 29 knots – some 53 kilometers per hour -, the ship is equipped with shuttles for 16 anti-ship missiles Onix or Kalibr-NKE and an anti-aircraft defense system Poliment-Redut.
