The siege, the aggressive tone, the arrogance of those who claim that three Latin American nations (Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua), struggling to overcome the inherited underdevelopment with their own progressive models, constitute a threat, has returned again.

And once again it is a small Caribbean island, an objective to be pursued, to be demolished at any cost. And the imperial purpose is not something new for the Cubans. A week of economic debates in the National Assembly, of symbols and laws, of profound and comforting Cubanness, has shown us that it is necessary to appeal more than ever to the saving of State resources in the institutions, companies and programs with the greatest social impact.

It is also about waging a permanent ethical battle against corruption and illegalities, as the Cuban president has pointed out, so that those moral reserves that we have, which are one of our best and greatest virtues as a nation, are expressed in all areas and especially in the economy. In this sense, the deputies knew how the country is prepared to face the new conditions of financial and commercial hostility of the United States and how we should look within our geography (once again) for the solution, if not the palliative, to the problems. Tired? Indifferent? NO, that has never been the formula for the Cuban, nor our lineage is surrender, or selfish, or traitorous surrender.

The difficult moments are those that already live, you know it well. The needs are growing and if the lack of control and inefficiency grow, the worst manifestations will emerge (crime, theft, shamelessness). This control Today should be focused on the municipalities, in local governments, so that our scarce resources, those that the State puts in function of social well-being, can re-animate those micro-spaces where we live, save them from the garbage and apathy, to feel better in that family piece, in the neighborhood, in the community. We already proclaim the new constitution, apply the law with all its potential against those who usurp, lacerate and despise the sacrifice of all. They are moments of being efficient, disciplined and committed, are decisive moments for saving and control.
