These days the main headlines in the national press and I would say that in some foreign media have been the tornado that happened last Sunday in the Cuban capital and affected mainly the municipalities of Regla, Guanabacoa and San Miguel del Padrón.

An unpredictable event that took everyone by surprise, because it is not a phenomenon that occurs on the island.

Great hurricanes have hit us and prevention has always been one of our strengths recognized throughout the world.

Hence, the ravages caused by this tornado have overwhelmed many, no photo can capture how much disaster caused this phenomenon.

A commotion for many inside and outside the Island, who have come to help, to lend their sensitivity and human solidarity to alleviate the pain of so many families that today have turned into nothing years of struggle and work.

In his favor the life that is the most important thing to get up, the help of our government that since the impact occurred mobilized everyone, helping those who needed it.

Sleepless hours of state officials, ministers, state leaders, rescue workers, firefighters forces, a people mobilized to contribute to the recovery.

From Havana there are young university students, workers from different state entities to collaborate in whatever is needed.

As I have always said, Cubans distinguish us by doing without asking for anything in return, that help unconditionally to the neighbor, to the friend, but also to anyone even if we do not know him.

Hence the importance of doing so because it will be superfluous, but doing so in an organized manner so that the government and many collaborators have the opportunity to get out of this new test.

It is no secret to anyone that whenever there are events like these, unscrupulous people try to take advantage of it.

As the saying goes “A river scrambled profit of fishermen”. You cannot allow just one of the most affected areas of the municipality Regla for example, a point of supply and demand open and sell the taro at 10 pesos, among other products or other point of sale of pork try to sell the steak at 50 pesos.

The answer of those responsible to my question was that they are private and cannot afford to lose merchandise, and yes it is true, they are private workers, linked to the state, self-employed who pay taxes, but these days in my opinion they are not to sell and not lose, are days to help especially when these points are right in the eye of disaster.

I ask: is it that those people, those who were affected, had the luxury of losing everything? Is it that those victims have the need that in the midst of so much misfortune right in front of their faces these individuals, as one of them told me, do not lose their investment?

Given the insensibility, it is up to close ranks and prevent merchants from coming to do business. It is up to you to take advantage of everyone’s sleepless hours to organize human work well and not let events like this happen. The Cuban government is an example to the world in supporting after natural disasters like this one, it has never left anyone helpless and we trust in that.

I call attention to the use of social networks to publish specific events that may occur in situations like you are.

Do not forget that what happens in Cuba is seen with magnifying glass, the slightest incident is exaggerated, which for other countries goes unnoticed for us in the eyes of the world, “no” and nothing and nobody can tarnish what we do.
