Cuba ratified this Thursday its commitment to peace in Colombia, by establishing a position on the island’s role in the interrupted process of negotiations between the Colombian government of Iván Duque and the insurgency of the National Liberation Army, ELN, and its participation in the concretion of the agreement with the FARC.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry, in the voice of its deputy minister, Rogelio Sierra, said that despite Duque’s actions of political manipulation and the arbitrary decision of the United States to relate Cuba to terrorism, Havana will maintain its status as guarantor in the peace process.
