Russia and China are pronounced to reduce tensions in the area
For their part, the heads of Russian diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov, and China, Wang Yi, respectively, rejected US attacks on Iraq, and pronounced themselves to reduce tensions in the area. Through a statement published by Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, Venezuela expressed his firm conviction and said that “it is an action that clearly raises tensions in the region, without any basis in International Law.”
After this, in the Middle East region tensions have worsened in recent days. While US President Donald Trump warned on Sunday that his country “has just spent two billion dollars on beautiful weapons it would use against Iran without hesitation,” the Iraqi Parliament passed a resolution that forced the withdrawal of foreign troops, including those from United States, after the assassination of Iranian General, Qasem Soleimani. The binding resolution also refers to the non-use by foreign forces of the national territory, waters and airspace of the Arab nation for any reason. Trump, defiant as usual, tweeted that “we are the greatest and the best in the world.”
“Allow this to serve as a warning that, if Iran attacks any US citizen or asset, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites, some of very high level and very important for Iran and Iranian culture,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
USA strengthens its military presence in the Middle East
In this context, the Pentagon began the displacement of some 3,500 soldiers to the Middle East on Saturday. The troops will be transported from the Fort Bragg military base in North Carolina to Kuwait and constitute a rapid deployment brigade known as the Immediate Response Force.
Iran warned that “about 35 US targets in the region are within our reach.” In this regard and according to reports from the Arab digital site Al Mayadeen, the secretary general of the Hezbollah movement, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, warned this Sunday that “when he speaks of a response to the crime committed by the United States, he does not refer to the people of that country or to their professionals, neither journalists, businessmen, nor civilian individuals, these have nothing to do with it ». Hassan Nasrallah said that “three years after Trump assumed the presidency of the United States, there are failures, deficits and confusion, and there is nothing to offer the American people at the level of foreign policy as the elections approach.” And he concluded: «In USA. uu a first objective was established and it is to overthrow the political system in Iran, and this was expressed by John Bolton, former National Security advisor ».
He also recalled that “in the election campaign, Trump used to say that Iraq’s oil is his. I used to say that there is no Iraqi state, and us. uu it is he who must control the oil fields by sending military forces and then extract the oil and sell it.
The events give reason that the US president has proposed to end the Iranian political system and seize the oil resources of Iraq and Syria
