This May 15 marks the 65th anniversary of the release of Fidel and his companions after serving a sentence for the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks. From the prison of Isla de Pinos, they traveled to Batabanó, and then to Havana. Among the young people who received him in the capital was the then student leader Juan Nuiry Sánchez, who died in 2013.
