Anniversary of the creation of the cartoon Mafalda
['Please Enter Your Name Here']
Date: None

On March 15, 1962, the graphic cartoon Mafalda was created. Its author, Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón, Quino, began as a cartoonist in 1954, achieving success in 1962, when he published his first compilation book of graphic jokes entitled MundoQuino, and created the comic strip Mafalda.

You cannot speak of Mafalda, of course, without referring to your own personality and thinking of its author. As a curious fact, from a commercial point of view, when Mafalda appeared as a book in 1966, the edition sold out in just two days. In 1968 it was published for the first time in Italy, and a year later the writer and semiologist Umberto Eco presented the book Mafalda Contestataria.

In 1971 the comic strip became known around the world and thus began its presence in the lives of generations through animated series, giving us the opportunity to enjoy its brilliant reflections and its committed attitude towards the world.
