Quarantine decreed in Artemisa Popular Council

The Provincial Defense Council (CDP), after analyzing the epidemiological situation of Mariel, decreed to quarantine, starting at 7:00 a.m. of this Thursday, August 20, five blocks from the Bankruptcy Hacha Defense Zone.
“The decision was made because there are seven positive cases in that area and, in order to avoid local transmission, we had to adopt quick measures,” said Gladys Martínez Verdecia, president of the CDP.
Approximately 1,500 people live in the stratified area, so as of today the process of delivering food and basic necessities will begin to be organized.
On the other hand, José Antonio Hernández Hidalgo, president of the Municipal Defense Council of Bauta, presented to the CDP a de-escalation plan that includes five general measures, 15 measures related to the ordering of Health services and about twenty related to transportation. commerce and services.
The plan will be analyzed and discussed in the afternoon session and, next week, it is expected to have a concrete proposal to begin the de-escalation.
Isolation and epidemiology centers in Artemisa
Analyzing the specific situations about the conditions in the isolation centers, their operation and conditions began the meeting of the CDP working meeting.
In a study carried out by the auxiliary organ of the CDP – the Provincial Comptroller’s Office – in nine of the 13 open isolation centers, irregularities were detected in the standards of food safety, hygiene and problems in the completion of templates that imply that a the same person assumes several functions.
Today 606 people remain in isolation centers, hence the importance of ensuring adequate food and cleaning.
