The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, highlighted on Thursday in his Twitter account the trajectory of the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel that reaches 62 years on this day.More than 60 years providing quality services Marrero meant that they are 62 years providing quality services to visitors who choose this historic and majestic hotel, in addition to congratulating their group of workers and exhorting them to achieve higher goals in their operations and investment process.

With the most central location in Cuba, the Tryp Habana Libre hotel celebrates 62 years of open here today, in addition to exhibiting a very special value, cosmopolitanism. Initially managed by the American chain Hilton, it is now under the tutelage of the Spanish Sol Meliá, and always since 1959 as Cuban property.

The most central and highest hostelry of the capital of all Cubans The Tryp Habana Libre Hotel, inaugurated on March 19, 1958, marks the crossing of a modern Cuban capital, constituting the most central and highest hostelry in the city at one end of La Rampa, the most bustling street. After a capital renovation, it has 572 rooms and innumerable gastronomic services, nightclubs and meeting rooms, special history and privacy.

After the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959, its enhancement was such that in the room named La Castellana, Cuban leader Fidel Castro installed the command of those early times. The establishment has rooms of about 50 square meters, a balcony and views of the city or the sea, and a series of amenities typical of a five-star hotel.

Among the novelties, there is a frontal mural by the Cuban painter Amelia Peláez and works in her rooms by the plastic artists Alfredo Sosa Bravo and Portocarrero, among others. This luxury hostelry hosted different events such as international chess competitions, gala dinners dedicated to cigars or hosting more than two thousand reporters from around the world during Pope John Paul II’s visit to Cuba.

This hotel has a privileged location in the central neighborhood of El Vedado, and more precisely on La Rampa street, where thousands of passers-by pass daily, as well as being an unrivaled business center. Other advantages lie in being surrounded by boutiques, travel agencies, airlines, being only four kilometers from the historic center of the city and 800 meters from the Malecon in Havana. It has three restaurants specialized in Cuban, Polynesian and Mediterranean food, a buffet table of international cuisine, and an excellent party room named Turquino, at the top, as that name responds to the highest eastern peak in Cuba.
