Opposition maneuvers against elections in Bolivia

The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Víctor Borda, in Bolivia, described as “incoherent and contradictory” the attitude of the opposition, which performs maneuvers (inside and outside the country) to try to block the October elections.

The head of the legislative body in Bolivia argued that the opposition does not want the people to decide their fate. Proof of this, is the demand of those political sectors, so that the members of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, resign. The maneuver attempts to put obstacles in the way of an electoral process where the opposition does not have a solid proposal, and neither do real options of triumph. In Borda’s opinion, it is not possible, under pressure, to force the resignation of elected officials in the Legislative Assembly.
