The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, assured that the intelligence bodies of his country managed to dismantle a boycott plan against the installation of the National Assembly, which will take place on January 5, reports Prensa Latina.
The president assured that they have evidence in their hands with testimony from the people who participated in a meeting in Riohacha in northern Colombia. Maduro affirms that the Government of Colombia has kept silent because they discovered the secret plan. The president indicated that at a meeting held on December 21 in the aforementioned city in northern Colombia, which was led by three intelligence officials from that country, it was planned to attack the Simón Bolívar Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in the Guri reservoir, in the state of Bolívar.
The plan, Maduro explained, also included attacking a refinery, although he did not specify which one; as well as destroying the main headquarters of the Federal Legislative Palace, where the National Assembly operates, located in the center of Caracas.
