Lula Free: reclaim from the social movements of Brazil

This May the 7th will set in Brazil a month of resistance of the social movements in front of the Federal Police headquarters , in Curitiba, where the ex president Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva is kept as a politics prisoner.

A balance made by the social movements of what has been this month of resistance making company to Lula shows positive results, mainly with the expressions of solidarity. To Regina Cruz, president of the CUT-PR and one of the coordinators of the Marisa Leticia camp and Vigil Lula Free, in Curitibia, the resistance started to be constructed before April 7th . The activist highlights that ¨In more than a month of resistance, since the moment Lula spoke to the Metallurgical Union, they made the first meetings with all the movements and entities compounding the Popular Brazil Front.

Maria Leticia comments that they have groups in charge of discipline, security, programming and feeding.

The social leader reminds that they had to face the fine of 500 thousand reales for the town hall, approximately more than 141 thousand dollars, also the prohibition of the authorities, the constant attacks of hatred; but all this has strengthened that space of unity and resistance.

On May the first were in the camp thousands of people giving the ¨Good morning ¨ Lula that takes place every day at 9 am.

According to information of the organization, there is an amount of more than 3000 people which have signed their visit to regions of the whole country and out of it, like Argentineans, Mexicans, Ecuadorians, Colombians, Italians, French, English, Americans, Norwegians, Guatemalan among others.

Every day politicians from all of Brazil make shifts in the visits to the camp and also national artists and personalities besides the theologian, Leonardo Boff and the peace Nobel Prize Adolfo Perez Esquivel to whom the authorities did not allow them to visit Lula but left words of support to the ones who make the resistance.
