Latin America highlights Friday that the president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff said Thursday that after the revelations that questioned the impartiality of former judge Sergio Moro in the Lava Jato case, the trial of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva should be reviewed.

A maneuver to avoid his participation in the presidential elections of 2018

According to the exmandatary the whole process in relation to Lula is flawed. The former president of Brazil said that the trial against Lula da Silva was a deliberate and clear attempt by the judge and prosecutors to prevent the leader of the Workers Party from competing in the 2018 presidential elections.

Rousseff referred to the publication of the messages through The Intercept portal and suggest that the current Minister of Justice of Brazil, Sergio Moro, principal responsible for the Lava Jato case, intervened in the work of prosecutors to guide them in the investigation against Lula, which is prohibited by law.
