Díaz-Canel meets in New York representatives of technologies.

Informative and fruitful was classified the meeting that this Monday afternoon held the President of the State and Ministries Council, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, during his visit to the headquarters of Google in this city.
Executives of several companies of the technology and information sector and the communications, belonging to the host country showed to the official a particular interest for the potentialities of the Cuban market and the perspectives of development of the Caribbean nation.
Díaz-Canel talked about the role of the state of the art technologies in developing countries.
Invited by Eric Shmidt, vice president of Alphabet, the chief of State of the Republic of Cuba talked with the attendants about the development of high technologies and the role of the latter in the advances in developing countries. Likewise, he mentioned the challenges implied in those technological progress and its use in a world increasingly more unequal.
In the development of the meeting, Díaz-Canel outlined that the information of societies constitute a priority for the Cuban government. He highlighted too, that the economic embargo of the U.S is the main obstacle to achieve the development of this sphere to its maximal capacity.
Valuable potential of human resources
The official made reference to the valuable potential of human resources that the island has, to make advances in areas like the ones that motivated this close meeting; and highlighted that the opportunities opening in sectors of state of the art technologies like biotechnology.
On the foreign side, attended the main directives of Google, VaynerMedia, Connectify, Mapbox, Mckinsey and Company, Virgin Group, AirBnB, Revolution, Twitter, Microsoft, Bloomberg and Cresta.
On the Cuban part, accompanied the President Díaz-Canel, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, minister of Foreign Affairs; Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investments; and Jorge Luis Perdomo di Lella, minister of Communications.
The importance having the new technologies for education inside a society, the political priorities of the largest of the West Indies, and the course the Island is taking relating to the technological development, were subjects discussed between the Cuban governor and his guests.
