Cuba reports 46 new positive cases to COVID-19

At the close of yesterday, April 22, 3,359 patients are admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Another 5 thousand 681 people are watched in their homes, from the Primary Health Care.

One thousand 967 cases were studied for COVID-19, resulting in 46 positive samples. The country accumulates 34,243 samples taken and 1,235 positive (3.6%). Therefore, at the close of yesterday, 46 new cases are confirmed, for a cumulative of 1,235 in the country.The 46 new confirmed cases were Cuban.

Of these, 40 were contacts of confirmed cases and 6 did not specify the source of infection. Of the 46 diagnosed cases, 25 (54.3%) were men and 21 (45.6%) were women. The most affected age groups were: those under 40 years of age with 24 cases (52.1%), followed by the group of 40 to 60 years with 12 cases (26.0%). 65.2% (30) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
