Cuba reported 699 new cases of COVID-19, 4 deaths and 924 recovered

Cuba confirmed at the close of this Tuesday 699 new cases of COVID-19, four deaths and medical discharges, Dr. Francisco Durán García, national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported at a press conference.
The expert pointed out that 19,328 patients were admitted, 2,824 suspects, 11,875 under surveillance, and 4,629 confirmed (active cases). According to the specialist, 18,792 samples were processed in the country for the diagnosis of COVID-19 in all molecular biology laboratories and as a result 699 samples positive for the disease were diagnosed.
Cuba accumulates 2 319 222 samples studied and 46 896 (2.02%) people diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the country, since the beginning of the epidemic.
Of the new cases 685 are indigenous and 14 imported 666, 95.2% were contacts of confirmed cases, for a cumulative of 41 969 (89.4%) 14 people (2, or%) with a source of infection abroad, and accumulated 4 670 (9.95 %) of cases with this source of infection throughout the epidemic.
In 19 patients (2.7%) the source of infection was not yet specified, accumulating 257 cases (0.5%)14 (2.0%) related to international travelers, accumulating 10,499 (26.2%).322 (46.1%) were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, thus accumulating 24 466 (52.2%) asymptomatic cases.389 were female and 310 male.
They belong to the age groups: under 20 years: 83; 20 to 39 years: 208; 40 to 59 years: 259 and more than 60: 149 cases.
