Are the blockade and human rights relatives?
Date: None
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights holds the Guinness world record for being the most translated document. However, many people do not know even their most basic rights. Freedom, justice and peace are the basis of a list that includes 30 human rights. How are they guaranteed in #Cuba? How does the blockade of The U.S impede the welfare of Cubans?
By limiting the development of the Cuban economy with coercive measures that damage, even to third countries, the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than half a century constitutes the main aggression against the human rights of the inhabitants of this island. This is recognized by the report that Cuba will vote on the UN next October 31, which states that “it constitutes a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the human rights of the entire Cuban people and qualifies as an act of genocide, according to of the Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948.
”The hostile policy, according to this document, “violates the Charter of the United Nations and International Law, and constitutes an obstacle to international cooperation.” The second article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights establishes precisely that “every person has all the rights and freedoms proclaimed in this Declaration, without distinction of race, color, sex, language, religion, political opinion or any other kind, national or social origin, economic position, birth or any other condition ”, postulated that the US government seems not to attend when it comes to the Greater Antilles.
