Announces Maduro investment in telecommunications with Chinese company Huawei

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced on May 23 an investment in telecommunications with the Huawei company and other Chinese and Russian companies, while considering the US veto as a “tremendous aggression”. against the multinational, reports Telesur.
In his announcement, the president announced that he aspires to “raise the capabilities” of Internet connection and telephony in Venezuela.
“Huawei will continue in Venezuela,” President Maduro said promising the new investments as well as announced the creation of a National Telecommunications Corporation that will merge all state companies in the sector.
The Venezuelan head of state said that the US has acted against Huawei, “only because the company has taken giant steps and has become the most advanced technology and communications company in the world and is already going with all the equipment towards the installation of the 5G system”.
The president praised the innovation of the 5G service and assured that “with the 5G another world is born, with the 5G you will have all the services you can not imagine”.
For supposed reasons of national security, the Donald Trump administration banned American groups from trading in telecommunications with “dangerous” foreign companies, with Huawei as the main target.
