Tan Safi (Australia) [1]

['Ffc Bénévole Des Médias']

Date: 2025-07-18

Tan was born in Gadigal country to parents who fled Lebanon after surviving the Israeli invasions in the 70s and 80s. They are a documentary film maker who has worked with NGOs fighting against human rights abuses, child trafficking, sex slavery, deaths in custody and more. They have lived in Palestinian and Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon to highlight people and movements who are doing the most with almost no resources.

Tan joined the FFC for the 2024 ‘Break the Siege’ mission to Gaza, and was on Handala in Rotterdam and Cork. They were ready to board the Conscience hours before it was bombed in European waters and supported the Madleen team on the ground in 2025. Tan has two favourite things to say – that everybody is someone else’s entire universe, and that we all need more revolutionary imagination.

May we see a world free of Zionist violence in our lifetime.
