Hatem Aouini, 50 years old, Tunisian, Father of Nidhal 20 years and to Yasmine 13 years, is an Internationalist activist; fighter for Palestine, Anti Imperialism, Anti Zionism and Anti Facsism. He is a trade unionist and fighter for workers and peasants rights and for social justice.
Hatem Aouini is a member of PPDS Tunisia political bureau and was elected deputy main coordinator of ICOR (International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties) and member of AIAFF Front (Anti Imperialism, Anti Fascism International Front) and member of the regional secretariat of La Via Campesina (World Peasants Movement) in the Arab Region.
He is an English teacher who earned a Masters Degree in Industrial and Employment Relations from Turin University and a Masters Degree in History and Civilization from Manouba, Tunisia University. He also works as the Regional Coordinator in the Arab Region of UNI Global Union, a global federation organizing Tech, ICTS, Commerce and security cleaning workers globally.
Aouini is a fierce and fervent fighter for Palestine and the rights of PALESTINIANS since an early age. During the student movement struggle he was elected member of the executive board of the left wing student union UGET where he led with his comrades the struggles for Palestine and against Zionism. Within UGTT and the workers movement he continued the struggle and in 2002 he co-led the demonstrations against the Zionist Genocide of Jenin and against the cultural normalization with Zionism (Famous demonstration against Film Fatma at JCC), where he was arrested several times and in 2005 he co-led the struggles against the declared visit of the criminal Sharon in 2005 during the Tunis Information Summit.
Since then he participated in the struggles for Palestine and the Palestinian rights in Tunisia and worldwide.
Since October the 7th he co-organized and led marches and demonstrations for Palestine in Tunisia, Germany, France, and Belgium, calling to end the genocide.
In October 2024 he co-signed a solidarity pact with Alawda Association one-half of ICOR to launch a solidarity campaign rebuild Alawda hospital.
After the participation of his wife and his son with the Tunisian comrades in the Maghreb Soumoud Convoy that was arrested in Sirt Libya, and couldn’t reach Gaza, he participates today in the Handala Flotilla to break the blockade on Gaza in continuation of all the legacy of the struggles of Tunisians and internationalists for Palestine.
He embodies the legacy of the revolutionary struggles of Tunisians for Palestine since 1948 and all the Tunisian martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Palestine.
