A photo of US President Donald Trump at the funeral of Pope Francis has gone viral on social media, with users alleging that the 78-year-old, seated beside First Lady Melania Trump, fell asleep during the funeral. In the photo, Trump can be seen with his face down and eyes closed. It triggered social media commentary, with many making fun of the President.

Although no reports have said that President Trump fell asleep at the Pope's funeral, social media went wild with speculations. There were hundreds of posts with the photo from the live stream of the funeral where Trump can allegedly be seen sleeping. Along with Trump, the event saw the congregation of several heads of state at Vatican City, which included French President Emmanuel Macron, UK PM Keir Starmer, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Trump's 'good friend,' Argentine President Javier Milei, among others.

Here are some of the posts about the President sleeping that went viral on social media:

"He decided to wear a bright blue suit that was inappropriate for the event and fell asleep during the mass. This is the American president who was attacking Biden and calling him Sleepy Biden," one user wrote.

"1) “Sleepy Joe”, the MAGA said. Trump falls asleep and snores at the pope’s funeral. But let’s see more evidence of Sleepy Don next," wrote another.

"He couldn’t be bothered to wear a black suit," said another. "He was either texting or asleep during the Popes funeral. Trump is a national disgrace, and he was treated as such while he was there."

The ceremony drew approximately 200,000 mourners, including over 50 world leaders, members of royal families, and representatives from international organizations.
