Hundreds of women and their allies gathered in downtown Portland to celebrate International Women's Day, rallying for equality and global awareness.
The event, organized by Women's March, took place at the Japanese American Historical Plaza.
Participants carried signs, banners, and flags, many advocating for equality and some protesting the current presidency and political figures like Elon Musk.
Cait Lotspeich, a participant wearing a shirt that read "bring on the matriarchy," said, "I'm here because I support women's rights."
"We have a right to speak our minds and we have a right to stand up for what is true and what is right, and you can see that women are powerful, and we are here to exert that power," she said.
Lotspeich also noted the rally's international focus. "What I'm loving seeing here today actually is a large support for Ukraine, as well. So women can recognize all the different issues that are happening internationally and we can make a difference," she said.
