Liverpool protest live as hundreds of counter-demonstrators gather [1]

There is a large police presence on Overbury Street tonight as people gather ahead of reports of a protest.
A dispersal order was earlier extended by Merseyside Police to prevent incidents of disorder and criminality. The order was put in place at 1.38pm today and will stay in place until 4am on Thursday 8 August.
The reported gathering follows on from riots in Southport, Liverpool city centre and County Road following the killings of Bebe King, Alice Dasilva Aguiar and Elsie Dot Stancombe.
Police across the country are planning for around 100 protests this evening, with Edge Hill believed to be one of the locations.
